Kenwood TM-V7A Quick Operations Guide

 

1. Power Switch – OFF(Push & hold for 1 second)

2. PM Switch Caution! (Programmable Memory)

3. MNU Switch – Push to access MENU – Caution!

4. Right Side Volume & Band Select

5. Right Side squelch

6. Control Select – Caution!

7. Left Side Volume & Band Select

8. Left Side squelch

9. Power Level Switch – (Low, Medium, High) Per Side

10. Rev Switch – Push to listen on repeater input

11. Tone Switch – Push to enable PL tone – Caution!

12. Function Switch – Caution!

13. Tuning Knob – Push for MHz only

14. Memory Select - memory channels

15. VFO Select - frequency input

16. Call Switch - call channel

17. Lock Switch on back of microphone. Set to LOCK

 

Caution : These buttons modify the operation of the radio. Be sure to check the manual before using these buttons.


Basic operation procedure.

 

Turn on radio:

Press and hold the Power Switch (1 ) for 1 second.

 

Turn off radio:

Press and hold the Power Switch (1 ) for 1 second.

 

Select frequency (left side):

Press the Left Side Volume & Band Select (7)

Press the Memory Select (14) quickly! Do not hold!

Rotate the Tuning Knob (13) until the desired frequency is visible.

 

Display 2m frequencies on the left, 70 cm on right:

Press and release quickly Function Switch (12). Do not hold!

Press and release quickly Control Select (?? 6).

Press and release quickly Memory Select (14)!

2m frequencies should be on the left, 70 cm frequencies on the right side.

 

Select frequency (right side):

Press the Right Side Volume & Band Select (7)

Press the Memory Select (14) quickly! Do not hold!

Rotate the Tuning Knob (13) until the desired frequency is visible.

 

Partial Reset: (Initialize all settings except the memory channels, the call channel, the pm channels, and memory channel lockout)

Turn off radio. Press and hold the Power Switch (1 ) for 1 second.

Hold VFO Select (15) and press Power Switch (1)

A confirmation message appears. ("VFO reset? Press VFO")

To confirm Partial Reset, press VFO Select (15).
